Tennis Australia is delighted to welcome children from across Australia and the Asia to the Australia Open Ballkids Squad.

Every year, the top two children from each of the Australian Open Series Events are awarded for their achievements with the opportunity to join the Australian Open Ballkids Squad in the following year. These Ballkids are from all over Australia and represent the following events:

  • • Brisbane International (Queensland)
  • • Sydney International (New South Wales)
  • • Hobart International (Tasmania)
  • • Hyundai Hopman Cup (Western Australia)
  • • World Tennis Challenge (South Australia)

These interstate Ballkids are also joined by an international contingent of Ballkids who us from China and Korea. At AO2019, 2 French, 6 Chinese and 20 Korean Ballkids will join the Ballkids squad for this once in a lifetime opportunity.

During their stay, members of the Ballkids Visitor Program participate in their on-court duties whilst also enjoying the many sites and attractions of Melbourne. Past activities have included trips of the iconic Luna Park in St Kilda, Healesville Sanctuary and the Eureka Skytower. Ballkid Visitor Program children also greatly contribute to the Australian Open experience of Australian kids, as their presence enables local children to learn about our neighbouring cultures.

All Ballkid Visitor Program children have excelled in selection trials, local tournaments and past duties as Ballkids at their applicable event. We congratulate them of their achievements thus far and welcome them to the Australian Open.
