What does a ballkid do?

Ballkids play an integral role in ensuring that tennis tournaments run smoothly. Throughout the Australian Open series, each ballkid is a focal part of every game, be it at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne or at the Brisbane International, Hobart International or the Sydney International.

Who can be a ballkid?

Ballkids are aged between 12 and 15* years depending on the tournament age restrictions.

*Sydney International & Brisbane International Ballkids age category is 12 to 16.

How do I apply?

You can register by completing the form below. By registering for the Ballkid Program you are indicating that you would like to be considered to participate in the Australian Open, Australian Open Series and Pro Tour Events across Australia.

Please note that trials and training sessions are held in each events home state e.g. AO training will be held in Victoria. If you select event outside your home state you are acknowledging that there may be a requirement to travel. The exception to this is for AO Level 1 Trials; these are held in Victoria (various locations) and Sydney (Sydney Olympic Park).
