What does a ballkid do?

Ballkids play an integral role in ensuring that tennis tournaments run smoothly. Throughout the Australian Open series, each ballkid is a focal part of every game, be it at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne or at the Brisbane International, Hobart International or the Sydney International.

Who can be a ballkid?

Ballkids are aged between 12 and 15 years depending on the tournament age restrictions.

How do I apply?

You can register by completing the form below. By registering for the Ballkid Program you are indicating that you would like to be considered to participate in the Australian Open, Australian Open Series and Pro Tour Events across Australia.

Please note that trials and training sessions for the Australian Open are held in Victoria; applicants will be required to attend events in Victoria if they wish to be considered for the Australian Open.

Registrations for the Ballkid Program at Australian Open 2018 are now closed; applications for Australian Open 2019 will be open from 1 July 2017 until 1 March 2018. Applicants must be aged between 12 to 15 years on the 1st of January 2019 in order to be considered eligble for this event.

Registrations for all 2018 Australian Open Series Events will remain open until 31 July 2017.
